Free IPTV Playlist (2026): Working M3U Links, Xtream Codes and STB Portals
Views: 13
worldiptv.cc publishes IPTV lists in the three formats people actually use: an M3U playlist URL, an Xtream Codes login, or an STB EMU portal link. Every list on the site carries the date it was last opened and checked, and the playlist directory groups all of them by country so you can see at a glance which one was refreshed this week.
This page explains how the three formats differ, how a list is checked before it is published, how to load one on each device, and what to do when a link that worked yesterday is dead today.
M3U, Xtream Codes and STB portals compared
Most “where can I get a free IPTV playlist” problems are really a format mismatch: the link is fine, but it is being pasted into an app that expects something else.
| Format | What you receive | Players that accept it | What usually breaks first |
|---|---|---|---|
| M3U / M3U8 URL | One http link to a plain-text file that lists channel names and stream addresses | VLC, TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro, Kodi, Philips/Hisense TV apps | The file sits on somebody’s server, so the whole list can disappear overnight |
| Xtream Codes | Four fields: host, port, username, password | IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate, GSE Smart IPTV, SET IPTV, most Android boxes | The credentials are shared, so the panel is rotated or rate-limited once too many people use it |
| STB EMU / portal | A portal URL, sometimes with the box MAC address added to a whitelist | MAG, Formuler, Smart STB, STBEMU apps | An unregistered box gets a portal that opens but shows an empty channel list |
If an article gives you both an M3U link and Xtream logins, start with the M3U. It is one field to paste and it is the fastest way to find out whether the channels themselves are alive.
How a playlist is checked before it is published
There is no automatic quality score behind these lists, and we do not claim one. What happens is manual and boring, which is exactly what you want from a free source:
- The M3U file is downloaded or the Xtream panel is logged into from a normal home connection.
- The list is loaded in two different players, because a single player hides its own decoding problems.
- A sample of channels across the list — news, sports, kids, a regional station — is opened to see whether video actually starts, not just whether the entry exists.
- The date of that check is written into the article and into the directory, so an older date always means “we have not re-opened this since”.
What we cannot promise: that a list is still alive when you try it. Free playlists move daily, several countries are geo-blocked depending on where you are, and a list that is fine in Rotterdam can buffer in Rome. The check date is the honest signal, not a badge.
Loading a playlist by device
- Fire TV Stick — install Downloader from the Amazon store, open the IPTV player app with its code, then paste the M3U URL or the Xtream host, port, user and password. No rooting and no jailbreak is needed; sideloading through Downloader is Amazon’s own supported route.
- Android TV / TV box — TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro. Add playlist → URL, let it fetch, then give it a minute: a list with a few thousand entries takes a while to index the first time.
- iPhone, iPad, Apple TV — GSE Smart IPTV or Smart Playlists. Import from a remote URL, choose M3U, and keep the playlist saved locally so a dead source does not wipe your channel order.
- Windows / macOS — VLC is the cleanest test: Media → Open Network Stream, paste the M3U URL, and channels appear under Playlist. If VLC plays it and your TV app does not, the app is the problem.
- Samsung / LG / Android Smart TV — apps such as Smart IPTV or SET IPTV ask for the TV’s MAC address and usually need the list uploaded from their website. Expect a small fee for the app itself; the playlists here are free.
- MAG and Formuler boxes — Settings → Servers → Portal, paste the portal URL, reboot the box. If the channel list stays empty, the MAC is not registered with that portal.
Why a link that worked last week is dead today
- Check the date first. Open the directory and pick the entry with the newest check date for your country; older articles stay online for reference and are the most common source of frustration.
- Isolate player from source. Load the same URL in VLC. Working there means re-enter the URL in your TV app — players cache a playlist copy instead of re-fetching it.
- Re-enter, do not edit. Free panels rotate passwords; typing the new host, port, user and password beats patching two of four fields.
- Buffering on live sport only is shared-capacity, not a broken list. A wired connection beats Wi-Fi, and the SD rendition of the same channel usually holds while the HD one stalls.
- Whole channel group missing points to regional blocking. Some packages only serve viewers in the country they are licensed for, which no player setting can change.
- Stream removed for copyright does happen; the site keeps a DMCA notice so a rights holder can report a link.
Cost, safety and legality
Every playlist here is published free, and nobody from worldiptv.cc will ever ask you to pay for one. Treat anyone selling “free premium IPTV” or a “guaranteed 12-month” reseller package as a scam — free links do not come with guarantees, and the money usually buys nothing. The same caution applies to APK files from random forums: an app that is not in the Amazon, Google Play or Apple store can carry adware or steal the Xtream credentials you type into it, so install the well-known players named above and nothing else.
Technically, a list is only a plain-text file. What you are allowed to watch depends entirely on where you live and what you are entitled to receive, so use these lists only for content you may legally view in your country. Details are in the disclaimer and the terms.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a subscription to use these playlists?
No. The lists are published without login, and there is nothing to subscribe to on this site for a playlist. A few TV apps charge for the app itself, which is separate from the list.
Which is better, an M3U link or Xtream Codes?
M3U is easier and quicker to test. Xtream Codes normally carry more channels plus an EPG guide, but they are shared logins, so they rotate more often. Keep both if the article offers both.
How often is the site updated?
Newly checked lists are published with the date in the title, and the directory page lists every country with its latest check date. The publication and update dates in the page code are what search engines and AI assistants read.
Can I use a playlist on a Firestick without rooting it?
Yes. Sideloading a player with the Downloader app is enough and needs no rooting, no custom firmware and no account changes.
My playlist opens but every channel is a black screen.
Usually a format mismatch — an STB portal pasted into an M3U field, or a MAC address that is not whitelisted. Confirm the source plays in VLC first, then match the app to the format the article provides.
